From a disruptive idea to a groundbreaking technology

This revolutionary idea came from the Automotive Industry where our CEO, Driss LARAQUI, did his PhD on Metal Fuel Combustion in 2016, to replace Gasoline and Diesel in Modern Thermal Engines. The results were astonishing as the prototype delivered 40 kW of thermal power without any CO2 emissions while capturing almost 99% of the oxide particles. This research was first originated by one of our visionary co-founders Sylvain Allano, who was Chief Scientific Officer of this well-known French Automotive Group at that time. He was the first to bring the idea of metal fuels from Japan to France back in 2010.

Driss LARAQUI saw the potential of the technology during his PhD on Metal Fuels for a French Automotive Group in 2016. Sylvain Allano, co-founder of Fenix Energy and former CSO of this well-known automotive group, brought this research idea from Japan back in 2010. Both were among the first in the world working on this disruptive idea.

Fenix Energy was created to take this technology to the industrial scale and start with Power plant scale systems in order to simplify the establishment of this new supply chain. Iron is currently the metal with the highest production rate yearly due to the steel industry (almost 2 Gt/yr) and is therefore the best metal to start this energy revolution.
